I completely agree with Carson Thomas that “Cricket is now over-hyped and glamorous due to being adopted by “bollywood” “. If Shah Rukh khan went to South Africa to watch India’s final game, could he not spare 70 minutes in Chennai to watch the Asia Cup Final????????

Great job Indian Hockey Team at the Asia Cup.Hockey is a real sport not cricket and hockey has to survive in India. I am a die hard fan of games like Hockey and Footabll. These corrupt politicians and money mongering media, corporates have pushed Cricket to such and extent it has wiped out all other games on the face of India.

Can you please clarify in brief why our nation has no respect for hockey in the historical days.
I have a one pressumption that could be biased.
1.) In the historical days indian hockey team comprised of anglo and anglo-indian players, and thats the reason that hockey has no respect.
Even in the earlier days hockey equally consisited of all players not just players with the last name “singh”. Our team has been 7 times consectutive world champions and altogether 10 gold medals, we have won world cup, champions trophy both once, asian games, and asia cup. Indian hockey has played in alot of tournaments and the biggest of them all is the olympics and they have proven their dominance then, just as germany, holland, australia have now. Indian hockey has gained respect from abroad inculding having a statue of dhyan chand commerated in austria as a tribute to the world hockey wizard. Now indian hockey team is back for vengence on being the the number 1 sport and lets give our utmost support for them. Don’t waste your time on glamor and glitz a.k.a cricket which now is a brand rather than a sport. Facts about cricket- world champions: only once and that is like olympics in the cricket world and they have a dismal performance since then. Cricket is now over-hyped and glamorous due to being adopted by “bollywood”.

those who are not interested in indian hockey,just look at the history of both indian cricket and indian hockey.you can easely know about it.
hockey should not be a national game,becouse our nation has no respect for hockey.
